Every single Passier saddle gets its own number from the saddle master during production, making it unmistakable. This number makes it possible to trace year of production and specifications of each saddle, even decades later. May 24, 2007 Well, your question got me to wondering about my saddle. I e-mailed [email protected] and got my answer. There is one number on one of the undersides of the flaps and one on the billet guard. The number on the billet guard is the model (mine is a PSP GR III). The number on the underside is a serial number. Send them both in. IDing a Passier Feb. Good luck on your saddle search. And one of the people who tried it emailed Passier with the serial number. The first three would be reliable as the style number of the saddle. Beyond that, it could be different. Serial number example: 1234-4567 123= style number of saddle 4= could be seat size number on some saddles. Measure for best information. The rest are unclear. Saddles from 1960s Will have a one or two digit number. This indicates a saddle style. The first one is a G Passier & Sohn jumping saddle in well used condition. It also has this set of numbers stamped into the leather 320 TX 1498 175. The serial # doesn't have a 'code' built in like most saddle makers. ![]()
